Norton Summit Wines
Our cool climate Pinot Noir is grown at an altitude of 500m above sea level. Planted by Dr Kenn Fisher in 1998 the vineyard features 4 blocks with different clones each having its own mesoclimate.
The planting on the steep slopes requires particular care. Machinery access is limited and a lot of the viticultural tasks are done by hand.
It’s worth the effort. Now about 30 years old, the vines produce wines with power and real character.
Our winemaking principle is to let the vines express themselves, rather than interfere too much during the vinification process.
Our wines are fermented using wild yeast from the vineyard and grape skins. None of our wine is filtered or fined. Nor are any additions made other than minimal amounts of sulphur.
Do Enjoy.
